Obituary of Mary F. Westlake-Keever

Mary F. Keever, 71, of Iowa City, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Mary.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Mary Frances Westlake was born on February 3, 1947, in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Earl Alvin and Delta Beatrice (Mink) Westlake.  She was a graduate of Lone Tree High School.  On February 14, 1970, Mary was united in marriage to Michael David Keever.  Mary owned and operated LaBoutique in Lone Tree, taught hairdressing at the Des Moines Young School of Beauty.  She was also a professional cook at retirement centers in Topeka, Kansas.  Mary was a member of Beta Sigma, Phi’s service and social sorority.  She loved to read and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary will be deeply missed by her children, Heather Lynne Keever of  Washington, Chad Michael Keever of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Tyler Joseph Keever and wife, Sierra of Topeka, Kansas; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and siblings, Thelma Irene Frauenholtz and husband, Donald of Iowa City, Juanita Westlake Forbes of Iowa City and James Edward Westlake and wife, Nancy of Lone Tree.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Alvin “Tiny” Westlake and sisters, Margaret Hicok and Helen Westlake.
