Obituary of Lois Mae Meeker-Kelley

Lois Meeker Kelley, 85, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Bickford Cottage in Muscatine.  Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Private family graveside services will be held 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the Columbus City Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Calvary Church in Muscatine with a time of food and fellowship to follow the services.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Calvary Church or Wycliffe Bible Translators.  Online condolences may be left for the family may be left at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

 

Lois Mae Farlin was born on January 15, 1933, in Pekin, IL, the daughter of Lawrence and Amelia Ann (Schmidt) Farlin.  She was a graduate of Pekin High School in Pekin, Illinois.  On May 11, 1951, Lois was united in marriage to Floyd Meeker in Pekin, Illinois, to that marriage was born five children. On March 17, 1986, Lois was united in marriage to Don Kelley in Wapello and that marriage brought Lois six stepchildren.  Lois worked at HON for 10 years.  She was a member of Calvary Church where she was active in church activities and also an area representative for Voice of the Martyrs.

 

Lois will be deeply missed by her children, Judy (Ron) Troyer of Castle Rock, CO, Amy (Ed) Mineart of Muscatine, Kathy (Dennis) Jingst of Kalispell, MT, Tina (Dean) Finley of Muscatine and Butch (Janice) Meeker Jr. of Muscatine; stepchildren, Kathy (Kirk) Park of Wyoming, IA, Pat (Julie) Kelley of Burlington, Mary Lynn (Paul) Peterson of Bellevue, Dan (Jan) Kelley of Grandview, Martha (Tracy) Harris of Columbus Junction and Lori Ewing of Columbia, MO; 16 grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 29 step-great grandchildren and two brothers, Lawrence (Marge) Farlin, Jr. and Gary (Peggy) Farlin, both of Pekin, IL.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a son-in-law, David Holtz, one granddaughter, four great grandchildren, sister, Jean Jackson and brother, Robert Farlin.
