Obituary of David Lynn May

David L. May, 72, of Muscatine passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his home.    Cremation rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  Memorial has been established for the Muscatine Humane Society in David’s name.  The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for David’s arrangements and his family.

David Lynn May was born on February 12, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa the son of Harry S. and Roseanne (Blumer) May. David was a 1964 graduate of Clinton High School.  On September 27, 1968 David was united in marriage to Sandra Kaye Freyer in Clinton.   David had worked in maintenance at Muscatine Power and Water, retiring in 2001.  David enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was an avid cyclist and also enjoyed fishing. 

David will be deeply missed by his wife, Sandy; children, Matthew (Mindy) May and David S. May, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Soren May, Kortney Barrett and Kalynn Craven; great-granddaughter, Raelynn Craven and brothers, Melvin May and Merle May. 

David was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael and one brother, Harold May.
