Obituary of Robert W. Gauler

Robert (Bob) W. Gauler, 100, of Muscatine, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at UnityPoint Hospital in Muscatine.  Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Geo M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.    Private interment will be later in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.

Bob Gauler was welcomed to his earthly home on October 28, 1918 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Charles and Lovina Katherine (Schwartz) Gauler.  He was a 1935 graduate of Muscatine High School.  On June 7, 1939, Bob was united in holy marriage to Maxine V. Beckey in Muscatine.  Bob served his country in the United States Army from 1943-1946. Following his return home from the service in 1946, Bob went to work at Stanley Consultants as a draftsman trainee and retired from there as an engineer in 1981. He was a Christian having accepted Jesus as his Savior on May 22, 1956.

Bob will be dearly missed by his children; Brian W. Gauler of Columbia, MO and Patti J. (Jerry) Martin of McKinleyville, CA; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

We rest assured that Bob was welcomed at the heavenly gates by Jesus and his wife, Maxine.
