Obituary of Violet Jean Coulter
Violet J. Coulter, 87, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2019, at Premier Estates. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Immediately following services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Pearl City Outreach. Burial will be in the Letts Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Violet Jean Axtell was born on April 5, 1931 in Fruitland, Iowa, the daughter of Roy L. and Maude M. (Cleavenger) Axtell. Violet retired after many years from H.J. Heinz in Muscatine. She enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, volunteering at the Jesus mission and Jessica Fay’s Closet and most of all and spending time with her many grandchildren.
Violet will be deeply missed by her children, Roger Douglas of Muscatine, Patricia Douglas of Oklahoma, Peggy Hoffman of Muscatine, Alvin “Joe” (Beth) Foster of Winfield, Ronald Douglas of Muscatine, D. June Coyle of Muscatine and Karen (Robert) Ash of Muscatine; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents; 10 brothers and sisters; 1 granddaughter, Heather Douglas; and 1 great grandson, Logan Foster.
