Obituary of Judy Troyer Campbell
Judy Troyer Campbell, 77, of Iowa City, formerly of Lone Tree, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the United Presbyterican Church in Lone Tree. A private family inurnment will be held in the Lone Tree Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Judy. Judy was born June 22, 1941 to Dana W. and Roberta (Forbes) Musser in Lone Tree. Before her high school graduation from Oxford H.S. in 1959, she had been an active member of the girls softball and basketball teams. In July 1959, she married Mahlon (Donn) Troyer. Judy worked as the head bank teller at the Iowa State bank and Hills Bank for many years in Iowa City and Hills. She found her way to work at the U of I Memorial Union Hall as an accountant until she realized her dream of opening a flower shop in Lone Tree. Judy was actively involved with the community building projects in Memphis, Missouri as well as with the Iowa City Chapter of TTT and other various organizations that she enjoyed working for and supporting throughout her lifetime. She supported the local 4-H and the Iowa City and Oxford saddle clubs as a show secretary for many years of her family showing horses. Her strong sense of church, family and community served her well throughout her entire life.
Judy will be deeply missed by her son Rodney “Rod” and Wife, Cindy Troyer of Kingston, Washington; grandson, Zach Troyer of Denver, Colorado; brother, Al (Diane) Musser of Mesa, Arizona; sister, Debbie (Vernon) Brenneman of Lone Tree; and lifelong friends, Sally Robbins and Duane and Eileen Lewis of Lone Tree.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband Donn; late husband, Russell Campbell; and son, Dana Troyer.
