Obituary of Sandra Jean Hildebrandt

Sandra J. Hildebrandt, 78, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2019, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.  Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  Burial will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  Following the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Community Room.  Visitation will be held on Monday, February 18, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society in Sandra’s name.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com.  

Sandra Jean Asmus was born on April 12, 1940 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Otto and Dorothy Mae (Andersen) Asmus.  Sandra was a 1958 graduate of Muscatine High School.   On April 8, 1962, Sandra was united in marriage to Bruce R. Hildebrandt at Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine.  She retired from the doctor’s office of Trevarthen and Lawhead.  She also was an Avon Representative for more than 30 years.   Sandra was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Friday Night Supper Club.  She enjoyed shopping, playing on her computer and talking to friends on the phone.   

Sandra will be deeply missed by her husband Bruce of Muscatine and daughter, Kim Hildebrandt and significant other, LaVerne Salek of Fruitland. 

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kevin Dean Hildebrandt on August 23, 1992.
