Obituary of Bernyce Ingstad

Bernyce Ingstad, 84, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, June 28, 2005, at Genesis Hospital - West Campus, Davenport. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2005, at the Faith United Church of Christ, 3307 Mulberry Ave. Reverend James Trosen of the Faith United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2005, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Faith United Church of Christ. Bernyce was born on December 8, 1920, in Muscatine, the daughter of Arthur and Rachel Miller Ziegenhorn. She married Donald R. Ingstad on February 21, 1948, in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1996. She was a member of the Faith United Church of Christ. She worked for Stanley Engineering and for First National Bank from 1969 to 1989 when she retired. She loved playing the piano, which she played for over 50 years. She played at various locations and loved to have people sing along when she played. She was a wonderful grandmother and mother and loved being with people. Survivors include her sons, Scott Ingstad and wife, Jessica, of Muscatine, Kim Ingstad and wife, Vicki, of Minden, Nevada, and Jon Ingstad and wife, Terri, of Wilton; seven grandchildren, Christopher Ingstad, Kelly Ingstad, Rachel Ingstad, Ryan Ingstad, Mitchell Ingstad, Tyler Ingstad, and Kaylin Ingstad; one brother, Donald M. Ziegenhorn and wife, Marjorie, of Muscatine; and nephews, Craig and Lee Ziegenhorn. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one infant daughter, Diana.
