Obituary of Clifford W. Bower
Clifford W. Bower, 85, of Muscatine, died Monday, July 4, 2005, at Unity Hospital.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2005, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Lary will officiate the service. Honorary bearers will be Bud Fridley, Fred Hurlbut, Leroy Waters, and Gil Lawrence. Casket bearers will be Scott Bower, Greg Bower, Rob Bower, Doug Bower, Tom Miller, Bill Umlandt, and Denny Anderson. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
Clifford was born on February 5, 1920, in Muscatine, the son of Leonard and Ida Belle Yeater Bower. He married Marian L. Mittman on October 20, 1948, in Muscatine.
He was a veteran of the US Army during World War II where he served four years in the Pacific Theater.
He was a 50 year member of the First Baptist Church.
He worked for Stanley Consultants for 40 years retiring in 1987.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Bower of Muscatine; two sons, Bradley D. Bower of Ormond Beach, Florida, and David L. Bower and wife, Sofia, of Magna, Utah; one daughter, Karen Miller and husband, Tom, of Muscatine; seven grandchildren; and one brother, D. Bernell Bower and wife, Minnie Ellen, of Newton, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Janice Diane; and one daughter-in-law, Gale Bower.
