Obituary of William C. Luebbert
William C. Luebbert Jr., 78, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, at his home.
Memorial Service will be 6 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2005, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. The Reverend Father Darin Lovelace of the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Durant will officiate the service. Burial will be at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey, Michigan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2005, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Boy Scouts of America - Illowa Council.
William was born on May 8, 1927, in Belvidere, Illinois, the son of William C. and Elizabeth Corson Luebbert. He married Beverly J. Peterson in 1952, in Petoskey, Michigan. She preceded him in death in 1975.
He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm on June 18, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois, and actively supported the Boy Scout Programs.
He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving from 1946 to 1950.
He was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Durant.
He taught at Wilton High School retiring after more than 20 years of teaching.
Survivors include three sons, William C. Luebbert III and wife, Betty, of Muscatine, Kenneth E. Luebbert of Cedar Rapids, and Barry W. Luebbert of Santa Cruz, California; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a four year old sister.
