Obituary of Elizabeth L. Miller

Elizabeth "Betty� L. Miller, 79 of Muscatine died Saturday, July 30, 2005 at her home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of the Life for Elizabeth Louise Miller will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine. Pastor Paul Ostrem will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Casketbearers will be David Reusswig, Matthew Reusswig, Phillip Reusswig, Jeffrey Sabbath, Michael Sabbath and Michael West. Honorary casketbearers will be Ray Stange, Richard Koll, Carl Tiecke, Richard Buster, Edward Hogan, Rex Carlson and Don Stange. Following committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation for Elizabeth will be on Monday, August 1, 2005, from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the Zion Lutheran Church or the University of Iowa Oncology Department with attention to: Dr. Hohl. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Elizabeth Louise Sabbath was born on July 3, 1926 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Walter and Marie (Grunder) Sabbath. On December 21, 1947, Betty was united in marriage to Arthur F. Miller at the Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine. Betty was an owner and operator of Gibson and Gibson Reality. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing and gardening, but most of all, Betty dearly enjoyed spending time with her family. Betty was the devoted wife of Arthur F. Miller and beloved and cherished mother of Sandra Drucker and her husband, Nathan of Hoffman Estates, Illinois, Sharon McBride and her husband, Scott of Gladstone, Missouri and Timothy Miller of Canton, Michigan; loving grandmother of Kevin Drucker and his wife, Vikki, Tracy Carter and her husband, Brad, Megan McBride, Trevor McBride and his fianc�, Jennifer Hill and Eric Miller; special great grandmother of Griffin and Allyson Drucker; and dear sister of John W. Sabbath of Cedar Falls. Her relatives, nieces, nephews and friends will miss Betty. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Sabbath; and daughter-in-law, Marcia Miller. Her family would like to thank those wonderful relatives and friends for their love and support during her illness and the staff at the oncology department at the University of Iowa.
