Obituary of Joseph Earl Titus

Joseph E. Titus, 76, of Muscatine, died Sunday, July 31, 2005, at his home. Memorial services will be Thursday, August 4, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Rev. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Joe�s family and his service. Joseph Earl Titus was born July 15, 1929 in Wilton, Iowa the son of Joseph C. and Maude Brei Titus. Joe was married to Joann Cozad and Nancy Ann Schaaf and later divorced. On July 12, 1975 Joe was united in marriage to Winnifred I. Bourne Kallenberger in Geneseo, Illinois. Joe was a U.S. Army veteran serving from 1946 through 1948. He was a life long resident of the Muscatine area where as a teen he worked for the Rock Island Railroad and then later was employed at the Red Paint Store. Joe will be deeply missed by his four sons, Ronald Titus of Waverly Hills, Georgia, Billy Joe Titus of Muscatine, Donald Dean Titus of Muscatine and Joe Titus of Lakeland, Florida; one daughter Brenda Jo Mosier of Muscatine; one stepson, Donald Kallenberger and his wife, Pat of Muscatine 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Danny D. Titus and his wife, Norma of Muscatine, David L. Titus and his wife, Lilly of Letts, Virgil E. Titus of Muscatine, Neil A. Titus of Muscatine and Michael L. Titus and his wife, Ruth of Ft. Hood, Texas; six sisters, Alice A. Cattoir of Moline, Illinois, Mary L. Rexroth of Muscatine, Lucille M. Galler of Fresno, California, Ruth V. Unkel of Muscatine and Eileen E. Haskins of Muscatine; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Winnifred in 1999; two brothers, Robert and Paul E. Titus and one sister, Leara Howard.
