Obituary of Clara Harmina Guthrie

Clara Guthrie, 84, of Lone Tree died, Monday, August 1, 2005 at the Windmill Manor in Coralville following an extended illness. Funeral services for Clara will be held at 2:00 P.M on Friday, August 5, 2005 at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Loren Yoder will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Dean Dauber, Kevin Dauber, Aaron Floyd, Jim Dunn, Rob Legislador, Scott Lutz, and Zachary Floyd. Honorary casketbearer will be Greg Dauber. Visitation for Clara will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2005 from 4:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Clara Harmina Ziegler was born on May 20, 1921 in Pocahontas, IA the daughter of Claus and Trintje (Dornath) Ziegler. On December 20, 1942 Clara was united in marriage to Clyde Guthrie in Yuma, Arizona. Clara enjoyed her flowers, being outdoors, and most of all, Clara dearly loved to spend time with her family. Clara will be deeply missed by her husband, Clyde of Lone Tree; one son, James and Colene Guthrie of Iowa City; two daughters, Doris Dauber of Lone Tree and Clara and Daryl Lutz of Lone Tree; seven grandchildren, Greg Dauber and Diane Litvak of Lone Tree, Kevin and Mindy Dauber of North Liberty, Dean and Tanya Dauber of Lone Tree, Scott Lutz and Jennifer Stifel of Helena, Alabama, Kelli and Adam Floyd of Lone Tree, Angela and Jim Dunn of Marion, Stephanie and Robert Legislador of Marion; nine great-grandchildren, Courtney, Blake, and Brady Dauber, Zachary and Nicholas Floyd, Drake and Chase Dauber, and Connor and Ryan Dunn; three brothers; Richard Ziegler, Carl Ziegler, and Jasper Ziegler, and two sisters; Marie Kober, and Minnie Williams. Clara was preceded in death by her two sons; Clyde Dean in 1969 and Terry in 1975, one brother, LeRoy Ziegler, and one sister, Rose Fagan. .
