Obituary of Glen E. Mulnix

Glen E. "Junior� Mulnix Jr., 75, of Muscatine, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at his home. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2005, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Pastor Arthur Cutshall of the Southern Baptist Church will officiate the services. Honorary bearers will be Paula Shepherd and Ron Dougles. Casket bearers will be Merrill Shepherd, Terry Smith Jr., Randy Rowe, Jeremy Steckman, Geno Miller, and Steve Peterson. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Rites provided by the combined squads of the American Legion Post 27 and the V.F.W. Post 1565. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, August 13, 2005, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Debra Johnson. Glen was born on June 24, 1930, in Rock Falls, Illinois, the son of Glen E. and May Bacon Mulnix. He married Tillie Weaks on May 18, 1950, in Rock Falls, Illinois. She preceded him in death in 1995. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Carver Pump Company and was a self employed carpenter. He was a member of the American Legion Post 27. He loved his cat, Kellie. Survivors include four sons, Michael Mulnix, Garry Mulnix and wife, Tina, and Jeffrey Mulnix and wife, Crystal, all of Muscatine, and Paul Mulnix and wife, Sue, of Wilton; two daughters, Charrie Fiese and husband, Larry, and Debra Johnson and husband, Randy, all of Muscatine; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Marge Charlier. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, Mark Mulnix, and two half brothers, Wayne and Robert Farrington.
