Obituary of Floyd E. Kropf

Floyd E. Kropf, age 79, of Letts, Iowa, died Sunday, August 14, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services for Floyd will be Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at 2:00pm at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Rev. Kimberly Bowles of the Letts United Methodist Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be Lee Snyder, Derek Kropf, Scott Kropf, Rick Schmelzer, Chasity Kropf and Sara Wehage. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 16th from 4-7pm at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials for Floyd may be directed to the Louisa County Ambulance Service. Floyd Eugene Kropf was born April 11, 1926 in West Branch, Michigan, the son of Joseph L. and Lovina (Yoder) Kropf. On June 25, 1949 he was united in marriage to Audrey Meeker in Cranston, IA. They were later divorced. Floyd was a US Army veteran of WWII, and he was a brake operator at HON Industries for 24 � years. He was a member of the John Harold Kemale Post #1565 V.F.W., the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Muscatine and a past member of the Letts United Methodist Church. Floyd enjoyed reading, woodworking, bowling and watching NASCAR. Floyd will be dearly missed by his sons, Rick Dean Kropf of Fruitland and Scott Allen Kropf of Conesville; his daughters, Linda Sue Snyder and her husband, Kenneth of Letts and Terri Rae Kropf, also of Letts; 4 grandchildren, Lee Snyder, Sara Wehage, Chasity Kropf and Derek Kropf; and 3 great grandchildren, Ashlyn Wehage, Cayle Wehage and Emma Wehage. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Solomon, Jacob and Joseph; and 3 sisters, Sarah Price, Lovina Nisley and Mattie Kropf.
