Obituary of Charles Watkinson

Charles "Charlie� Watkinson, age 53, of West Branch, died Tuesday, August 16, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Memorial services for Charles will be held at 2:00P.M. on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Loren Yoder will officiate. Burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation for Charles will be held one hour prior to the memorial services Saturday, August 20th from 1:00-2:00P.M. at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the funeral home in Charles� name. Online condolences may be left for the Watkinson family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Charles "Charlie� LeRoy Watkinson was born July 5, 1952 in Iowa City, the son of Evan and Norma (Goldesberry) Watkinson. Charlie graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1971. On June 6, 1999, Charlie was united in marriage to Jeanne Becker in North Liberty, Iowa. He worked at Louis Rich for several years. Charlie enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching and collecting NASCAR, and he was always ready to help work on his brother Jerry�s race car. Charlie will be deeply missed by his wife, Jeanne of West Branch, three daughters, Kim Boehm and husband, Derek of Gilbert, Arizona, Danielle Watkinson and Rachel Watkinson, both of Iowa City; his parents, Evan and Norma Watkinson of West Branch; four brothers, Donnie Watkinson and wife, Lori of Lone Tree, Mike Watkinson and wife, Lori of Rosemount, Minnesota, Jerry Watkinson and wife, Shirley of Davenport, and Jeff Watkinson and wife, Barb of Dyersville; his sister, Peggy Gunden and husband, Jay of Lake, Michigan; and maternal grandmother, Marie Goldesberry of West Liberty. Charlie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
