Obituary of Clifford A. Hintermeister

Clifford A. Hintermeister, 82, of Muscatine, died Thursday, August 18, 2005, at his home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Pastor Dan Schoepf will officiate with the assistance of Pastor Andrew Landers of Calvary Church. Casketbearers will be Mike Brogly, David Ford, Alan Gilbert, Mike Hall, Aaron Hillman and Ken Richards Honorary casketbearers will be Ted Landers, Ray Nyenhuis, Frank Schmidt and Wilfred "Pickle� Werner. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Calvary Church. Visitation for Clifford will be held on Monday, August 22, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Clifford�s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Hintermeister family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Clifford�s family and his service. Clifford Allen Hintermeister was born December 8, 1922 in Muscatine, Iowa the son of Elmer C. and Ella H. Paap Hintermeister. On August 3, 1947 Clifford was united in marriage to Marjorie Gritton. Clifford farmed for many years and worked at Modem Dairy from November 1952 to March 1963. He worked for Meadow Gold Dairy from March 1963 to December 1979. Clifford drove a cab from December 1979 to May 1981 and worked as custodian at Zion Lutheran Church from May 1981 to June 1990. He attended Calvary Church, enjoyed woodworking and paint-by-number pictures. Clifford volunteered his time at the Musser Public Library, the Food Pantry, Muscatine Art Center, Lutheran Homes and the Muscatine Care Center Clifford will be deeply missed by his wife, Marjorie; one son, Edward Hintermeister and his wife, Virginia of Oakton, Virginia; two daughters, Janice Hillman and her husband, Greg of Fruitland and Valerie Hintermeister of Muscatine; one brother, Burton Hintermeister and his wife, Carol of Fenton, Missouri; four grandchildren, Aaron Hillman, April Hillman, Clara Hintermeister and Andrew Hintermeister; and one great-granddaughter, Natalie.. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Fred Hintermeister and one grandson, Michael Venard
