Obituary of Edna Marie Edwards

Edna M. Edwards, 88, of Muscatine, died Thursday, August 18, 2005, at the Lutheran Homes. Funeral services will be Monday, August 22, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Chaplain Vicki Pedersen will officiate. Casketbearers will be Melvin Paetz, Jeremy Edwards, Charles "Chip� Calcott, Ron Spiker, Randy Spies and Dale Holtz. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Community Room at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral & Cremation Services. Visitation for Edna will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Edna�s name. Edna Marie Hulse was born June 19, 1917 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Charles E. and Viola Schmidt Hulse. On January 28, 1941 Edna was united in marriage to Raymond E. Edwards in Muscatine. Edna attended the Mulford Evangelical Free Church. She raised flowers, enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading, cooking and loved birds. Edna will be deeply missed by her son, Richard "Tom� Edwards and his wife, Jean of Muscatine; one daughter, Mary "Linda� Strause of Muscatine; one sister, Lois I. Crane of Davenport; five grandchildren, Tammy Paetz and her husband, Melvin of Fruitland, Tim Strause and his wife, Carrie of Sedelia, Colorado, Terry Strause of Portland, Oregon, Jeremy Edwards and his wife, Leslie of Two Rivers, Wisconsin and Jennifer Calcott and her husband, Chip of Muscatine; and four great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond, one sister, Verna Spiker and one son-in-law, Ralph Strause.
