Obituary of Louise E. Rummells

Louise E. Rummells, age 88, of Lone Tree, was called home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 29, 2005 at the Lone Tree Heath Care Center after a lengthy illness. Funeral services for Louise will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 3, 2005 at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Rev. Betsy Neipert will officiate. Casketbearers will be Loren Forbes, Steven Forbes, Philip Forbes, Brian Whiting, Dennis Schuessler and Chuck Poelter. Honorary casketbearers will be Bernice Gardner and Margaret Fetters. Burial will be in the South Prairie Cemetery. Following the committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the United Presbyterian Church. Visitation for Louise will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home in Lone Tree. Memorials may be directed to Amnesty Hospice and Nichols United Methodist Church in Louise�s name. Online condolences may be left for the Rummells family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Louise Eloise Heath was born July 17, 1917 in Muscatine County, the daughter of William Austin and Anna Sibbald Walker Heath. On May 27, 1937, Louise was united in marriage to George Rummells in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Louise graduated from Nichols High School as Valedictorian and graduated from Cedar Falls Teachers School. She taught at the country schools for several years. A special time in Louise life was when she and George farmed in the Nichols area. From 1962 to 1981 Louise was employed at the ASCS office in Muscatine. She was a member of the AR TTT Chapter of Lone Tree, Nichols WSCS, Federated Search Light Club of Lone Tree, N.A.R.F. and Nichols United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school. Louise dearly loved music, flowers, reading, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. Louise will be deeply missed by her son, William George Rummells and his wife, Doris of Moline, Illinois her daughter, Linda Louise Forbes and her husband, Lowell of Lone Tree; her grandchildren, Steven L. Forbes and his wife Johnetta of College Station, Texas, Philip J. Forbes and his wife, Kelli of North Liberty, Iowa, Amy Whiting and her husband, Brian of Rosemount, Minnesota, Brenda Bowmen and her husband, Ira of Wilton, Terri Bueker and her husband, Jim of Davenport, Iowa, Pamela Giammetta and her husband, Dan of Hardwich, Georgia, Tina Monk and her husband Rick of Lansing, Kansas and Tim Foster of Moline, Illinois; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Forbes, Christopher Forbes, Johnathon Forbes, Lucas Forbes, Brady Whiting, Nathan Whiting, Ryan Ferkel, Corey Ferkel, Sarah Ockermann and Brandon Monk. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1968, one sister and two brothers.
