Obituary of Milda M. Ganzer
Milda M. Ganzer, 96, of Columbus Junction, died Saturday, October 8, 2005 at her home in Columbus Junction. Graveside funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the Columbus City Cemetery. Rev. Chris Hinkel of the St. Paul�s Lutheran Church of Wapello will ifficiate the services. Burial will be held at the Columbus City Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Derreck Woodruff, William Ganzer, Dan Ganzer, Mike Ganzer, James Ganzer, Stephanie Woodruff, Cynthia Derry and Brenda Stout. There will be no visitaiton. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Milda�s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Ganzer family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is handling the services for Milda.
Milda Martha Flagel was born on May 3, 1909 in Maquoketa, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Siegel) Flagel. On April 14, 1932, in Maquoketa, Milda was united in marriage to Fred Ganzer who immigrated from Germany in 1927. Milda worked at Owen�s Brush in Iowa City and also cooked in several local restaurants and the golf course. She was a member of the St. Paul�s Lutheran Church in Wapello where she was very active as a Sunday School Teacher and Ladies Aide, serving as a past president. She enjoyed working, being in the outdoors, where she tended to her garden, going for drives, cooking, baking and canning.
Milda will be deeply missed by her daughter, Margaret Woodruff of Columbus City; eight grandchildren, Derreck Woodruff, William Ganzer, Dan Ganzer, Mike Ganzer, James Ganzer, Stephanie Woodruff, Cynthia Derry and Brenda Stout and several great grandchildren.
Milda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred, one daughter in infancy, one son, Raymond D. Ganzer, three brothers and two sisters.
