Obituary of Edward Kucera

Edward J. Kucera, 88 of Riverside, died Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Iowa City Rehabilitation following a brief illness. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at the St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Riverside. Rev. Rich Adam will officiate. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Lone Tree. Casketbearers will be Mike McDole, Leo , Harold Muser, John Metz, Mark Boerjan and Paul Hebl. Honorary casketbearer is Gary Kallaus. Visitation for Ed will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Riverside. Edward Joseph Kucera was born on December 3, 1916 in Washington County, Iowa the son of James and Anna Florang Kucera. On November 28, 1940, Edward was united in marriage to Lucille Lavern Aubrecht at the St. Mary�s Catholic Church in Lone Tree. Ed farmed until he retired in 1988 and enjoyed hunting squirrels and quails. Ed will be missed by his sister Evelyn Moberly of Washington, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille on January 28, 2005, one brother, Ralph Kucera and six sisters, Clara Libenguth, Mary Rotenburger, Dora Parker, Helen Wingler, Alice Deckler and Della Kron.
