Obituary of Joyce Strouse

Marilyn Joyce Strouse, 73, of Muscatine, died Sunday, October 30, 2005, at Lutheran Homes. Reverend John W. Meyer of the Grace Lutheran Church will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Scott McBride, Trevor McBride, John Miller, Mike West, Tom Thompson and Dave Thompson. Honorary bearers will be Barbara Berry, Megan McBride and Alyssa Miller. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine. Following the committal service a luncheon will be served at Grace Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to the Amenity Hospice or Activity Department at Lutheran Homes. Online condolences for the Strouse family may be left at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Joyce was born on March 3, 1932, in Muscatine, the daughter of Frank and Harriet Steninger Miller. She married Bernard E. Strouse, in Rock Island. He preceded her in death. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Eagles Lodge and last worked at Hy-Vee. She enjoyed embroidering and playing cards. Loved the holidays and being with her family. Survivors include one son, Jerry Maylone of Anamosa; two daughters Sharon McBride and husband, Scott, of Gladstone, Missouri, Debra West and her husband Mike, of Muscatine; five grandchildren; two brothers, Arthur Miller, of Muscatine, and Gary Miller of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin; one sister, Pat Berry, of Muscatine; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and three brothers, Richard Miller, Robert Miller and Larry Miller, one sister, Mary K. Miller.
