Obituary of Alice Estella Whitlock

Alice E. Whitlock, 85, of Muscatine, died Friday, November 04, 2005, at Muscatine Care Center. Funeral services will be Monday, November 7, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.. Pastor Don Swanson of First Baptist Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be Tom Hammann, Joe Hammann, Paul Hagens, Roger Whitlock, Jr., Jeff Willet, Brad Hamner, Gary Perrilles, Robbie Hammann, Eric Hammann and Case Simerl. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for Alice will be held on Sunday, November 6th from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Alice�s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Whitlock family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Alice Estella Metcalfe was born May 20, 1920 in Muscatine, the daughter of James Irwin and Martha Lena (Smith) Metcalfe. On January 24, 1942 Alice was united in marriage to Charles S. Whitlock in Kahoka, Missouri. Alice was a very active 60-year member of the First Baptist Church and the Eagles Auxiliary. She and her husband owned and operated several restaurants throughout Iowa. Alice will be deeply missed by her two sons, Robert Whitlock of Memphis, Missouri and Roger Whitlock and his wife, Marcia, of Muscatine; three daughters, Barbara Hagens and her husband, Tim, of Muscatine, Patricia Willet and her husband, Robert, of Memphis, Missouri and Marlene Hammann and her husband, Charles, of Columbia, Missouri; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, one great-granddaughter, Amanda Simpson, two brothers, James Metcalfe, Jr. and LeRoy Metcalfe and four sisters, Genevieve Hicks, Edna Mae Stacher, Eloise Zybarth and Alberta Black.
