Obituary of Glendean Sexton

Glendean Sexton, 82, of Columbus Junction, died Sunday, November 6, 2005 at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction. Funeral services for Glendean will be Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 10:30 am at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction. Rev. Cathy Whitlatch of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be Brad Buffington, Dusty Buffington, Brett Williams, Lonny Stewart, Cory Conaway and Charle Cherry. Honorary Casketbearers will be Casey Kilburn and Azure Van Auken. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9th, at the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services from 4-7 pm. A memorial has been established in Glendean�s name for the Colonial Manor Activity Department. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery. Sympathy notes may be left to the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Glendean Trout was born May 23, 1923 in Winfield, Iowa the daughter of Jesse David and Lura Mae (Carothers) Trout. In 1942 she married Craig Buffington who preceded her in death in 1971. On September 28, 1975 Glendean was united in marriage to Henry Sexton in Taylor Ridge, Illinois. She had worked as a retail clerk for Ross Dry Goods and the May Drug Store in Columbus Junction. She was a member of the Spring Run United Methodist Church and an active member of the Ladies� Aide Society. Glendean was also a member of the Ladies of the Moose in Muscatine. She enjoyed going to the casino boats, playing cards, traveling throughout the States and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Glendean will be dearly missed by her husband of 30 years, Henry Sexton of Columbus Junction; her sons, Mark Buffington and wife, Judy of Bonaparte, IA and Collin "Corky� Buffington of Columbus Junction; her daughters, Marcia Cherry and husband, John of Conesville, IA and Rolene Fuller and husband, Zeke of Columbus Junction; step-children, Linda Gibson and husband, Jon of Cumming, IA, James Sexton and wife, Joyce of Houston, TX and Annie Kidd and husband, Bob of San Marcos, TX; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, William Trout and wife Martha Mae of Marion, IA; sister, Ethel Parker of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and step-daughter-in-law, Melody Sexton of Carmi, IL. Glendean was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Craig in 1971; 1 granddaughter, Julie Buffington; 4 sisters, Edith, Ruth, Lois and Mary; and step-son, Joe Sexton.
