Obituary of Ronald Riggan

Ronald D. Riggan, 56, of Lone Tree, died Monday, November 7, 2005 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness. Funeral services for Ronald will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 10, 2005 at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Following the committal service a time of fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion. Visitation for Ronald will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 from 3:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home in Lone Tree. Ronald Dean Riggan was born on September 19, 1949 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Henry and Amanda (Seering) Riggan. Ronald was a 1967 graduate of Lone Tree High School. On October 26, 1968, Ronald was united in marriage to Linda Hudachek in West Liberty. Ronald was self employed as an electrician and later he worked for Nate Moore in Iowa City. He was a member of the Lone Tree Jaycees, serving as president and was involved with Boy Scouts. Ronald enjoyed playing cards, dominos, watching NASCAR, going to the tool section in any store, riding around Lone Tree in his blue 1968 Harley Davidson golf cart, but most of all, Ronald dearly loved to spend time with his family and his grandchildren. Ronald will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda of Lone Tree; one daughter, Tracy Lynn Riggan and her husband, Ivan Tetyushev, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; two grandchildren, Lida and Vitaly; six brothers, Earl Riggan and his wife, Delores, of Riverside, Richard Riggan and his wife, Lois, of Ainsworth, William Riggan and his wife, Barbara, of Washington, Larry Riggan and his wife, Karma, of Des Moines, Michael Riggan and his wife, Diane, of Muscatine and Kenny Riggan and his wife, Jan, of Ainsworth; six sisters, Marcia Blakemore and her husband, Melvin, of Clarke, Missouri, Nancy Knebel and her husband, Richard, of Iowa City, Carol Johnson and her husband, James, of Lone Tree, Elizabeth Droll and her husband, Gary, of Conifer, Colorado, Virginia Lee and her husband, Lonnie, of Avon, Illinois and Sandra Kleckner and her husband, Jack, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Riggan of Tiffin and Margaret Riggan of West Liberty and several nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, David, James and Lyle and two sisters, Janette Riggan and Judith Pritchett.
