Obituary of Robert W. Crumly

Robert W. Crumly, 88, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Unity Hospital. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 10, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Pastor Dan Schoepf of Calvary Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be his nephews and great nephews. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the American Legion. Visitation for Robert will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Robert�s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Crumly family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Robert�s family and his service. Robert Warren Crumly was born April 14, 1917 in Louisa County the son of Arthur D and Dora A. Dallmeyer Crumly. On May 11, 1940, Robert was united in marriage to Colen Searcy in Washington, Iowa. Robert was employed by the Quality Foundry in Stockton for 30 years. He cared for the cattle at the Turkington Farms in Letts, Iowa for many years and worked with his son, Tom in the family painting business. He attended Calvary Church and enjoyed visiting with family and visiting at the American Legion. He also enjoyed helping many neighbors with maintenance and lawn care and managing the neighborhood from his front porch. Robert will be deeply missed by two brothers, Lester Crumly and his wife, Mickie of Wilton and Lloyd Crumly and his wife, Mary of Milam, Texas; one grandson, Vance Crumly; two great-grandsons, Alexander and Andrew Crumly; three step-grandchildren, Sally, Neal and Daniel Beverly; and several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Colen; one son, Thomas Crumly; one great-grandson, Daniel Beverly; one sister, Vida Hetzler; and four brothers, Edwin, Leo, Max and Merle Crumly.
