Obituary of Robert B. Helm

Robert B. Helm, 74, of Fruitland, died Tuesday, November 22, 2005, at Unity Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Pastor Ted Landers of Calvary Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be Scott Freese, Jason Freese, Ernest Brockert, William Brockert, Matt Raimers and Phillip Brockert. Burial will be in Island Cemetery. Visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, November 25, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Robert�s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Helm family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Robert Bruce was born February 22, 1931 in Ottumwa, Iowa the son of David and Susie (Moore) Helm. He was a 1950 graduate of Muscatine High School and served with the Iowa National Guard out of Muscatine. On September 25, 1954 Robert was united in marriage to Evelyn Brockert in Muscatine. He was a welder and fabricator at E.S.I. Robert enjoyed gardening, spending time with his kids and grandkids, his dog "Skippy�, working and being around and talking to people. Robert will be deeply missed by his wife, Evelyn of Fruitland; one son, Steven Helm and his wife, Kelly, of Muscatine; one daughter, Patricia Freese and her husband, Jay, of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Jessica, Jason and Scott Freese and Shay and Savannah Helm; one brother, Keith Helm and his wife, Kathy, Dayton Beach Shores, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, David, Harold and Kenneth Helm; one sister, Lucille McDowell; and a special aunt, Bertha Wallace
