Obituary of C. Keith Abbott

C. Keith Abbott, age 82, of Conesville, died Monday, December 12, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services for Keith will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2005 at the Christian Church in Nichols, Iowa. Pastor Chris Wilson will officiate. Casketbearers will be Andy Abbott, Kris Abbott, Mitch White, Josh Shriner, James Wilkins, Bill Bright, Bryon Buffington and Jeff Sytsma. Honorary Casketbearers will be Tom Huston, Mark Huston, Marvin Prior, Kevin Van Heiden and Tom Sands. Visitation for Keith will be held on Wednesday, December 14th, from 4:00 to7:00 pm at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree, Iowa. A memorial has been established in Keith�s name for the Nichols� Christian Church. Burial will be at the Conesville Cemetery. Sympathy notes may be left for the Abbott family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Charles Keith Abbott was born on February 2, 1923 in Conesville, IA, the son of Harry D. and Mabel J. (Rippey) Abbott. On June 9, 1946 he was united in marriage to Joyce E. Borgstadt in Nichols, IA. Keith was a lifelong resident and farmer in the Conesville area. He was a member of the Board of Directors for the Columbus Junction State Bank and a member of the Nichols� Christian Church. Keith enjoyed and loved his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. Keith will be deeply missed by his wife, Joyce Abbott of Conesville; his 2 daughters, Candace D. Dusenberry of Valentine, Nebraska and Cindy White of Muscatine; his 2 sons, Dennis Abbott and his wife, Nita of Conesville and Brian Abbott and his wife, Linda of Nichols; his brother, Newell Abbott of Liberty, Missouri; ten grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. Keith was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, DeEtta Hankins; and his son-in-law, Keith Dusenberry.
