Obituary of Herman W. Martin

Herman Wayne Martin was born on January 9, 1926 in Mt. Moriah, Missouri, the son of John and Merle (Schweffler) Martin. Herman served with the United States Army from May of 1944 to December of 1944. On March 15, 1946, Herman was united in marriage to Elaine I. Hahn in Iowa City. Herman farmed all his life. He was a member of the Lone Tree American Legion Post 457 for over 50 years. He was also a previous member of the Moose Lodge 338 in Muscatine. He enjoyed dancing, farm auctions, and was an avid toy collector. Herman will be deeply missed by his wife, Elaine of Muscatine; one daughter, Linda L. Price and her husband, Michael, of Muscatine; one son, John W. Martin and his wife, Anita, of Lone Tree; five grandchildren, Nick, Jessica, Maggie, Andrew, and Rebecca; one great granddaughter, Lia; one great grandson, Michael; and one brother, Bueford "Jack� Martin and his wife, Virginia, of Lone Tree. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter Tina Wieland, and one grandson, Jonathon Johnston.
