Obituary of Vera Jarr

Vera E. Jarr, 79, of Muscatine died Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at Unity Hospital in Muscatine. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 26, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church. Rev. Paul Ostrem of the Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be Jessie Ribbink, Tiffany Ann Jarr, Christopher Ray Jarr, Charles Sandness, Jeremy Jarr, Brandon Jarr, Ashlee Ford-Martin, Anita Jarr, Joshua Jarr, James Blackwood, Jolene Battey, Troy Coyour, Leeanna Davis, Grace Cox, and Lois Cox. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Following the interment, a time of food and fellowship will be held a the Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation for Vera will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. A memorial has been established at the funeral home in Vera�s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the Jarr family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Vera Eloise Millard was born June 6, 1926 in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Ruben Ray and Rena (Brownlie) Millard. On April 6, 1946 Vera was united in marriage to Donald C. Jarr in Iowa City. Vera was a homemaker and a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, bingo, crocheting, word searches, spending time with her family and her dog, Spike. Vera will be deeply missed by three sons, Ray Jarr and Donald Jarr and his wife, Tina all of Muscatine, Robert Jarr of Tipton; five daughters, Rena Ribbink and her husband, Jerry of Muscatine, Anna Sandness and her husband, Charles of Mankato, Minnesota, Mary Blackwood and her husband Dale Johnson of Muscatine, Karen Coyour and her husband, Lee Scheurer of New Ulm, Minnesota and Cheryl Cox of Ottumwa, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Beulah McKillip and Neoma Iserhott and her husband, Elmer all of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Shirley and Cleora; one grand-daughter, Lynn Cox; one son-in-law, Dennis Blackwood; and one great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Davis.
