Obituary of Thomas Edwards

Thomas H. Edwards, 84, of Orange Park, Florida, died Monday, January 30, 2006 at The Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville, Florida. Private family visitation and services will be held. Rev. Richard Nye of Faith United Church will officiate. Casketbearers will be Bill Thomas, Tom Thomas, Mark Thomas, Dave Thomas, Peter Kautz and Pat Grimm. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with Military Rites by the combined units of the VFW Post #1565 and the American Legion Post #27. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Thomas� family and his service. Thomas Henry was born August 29, 1921 in Staunton, Illinois the son of Charles E. and Sylvia J. (Miller) Edwards. On January 31, 1948 Thomas was united in marriage to Eleanor T. Thomas in Jefferson City, Missouri. Thomas was a retired 30-year Navy pilot Captain veteran serving during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam Conflict. Thomas will be deeply missed by his wife, Eleanor, of Orange Park, Florida; one brother-in-law, Kenneth Thomas and his wife, Dee, of Bloomington, Minnesota; two sisters-in-law, Fauniel Kautz and Joan Grimm both of Muscatine; one cousin, Winona Lautenschaeler of Staunton, Illinois and 14 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Thomas.
