I have many great memories of Bob at work and around the community. One of Bob's greatest qualities was that he was a "gentle man," always thoughtful and considerate of others. I am sure he will be missed by all who were a part of his life. Rebecca and I send our sincere condolences.

My husband, Leo, is the sister of Bob's wife, Lois. We lived overseas for many years. Whenever we came home, Bob and Lois had a full house with their six children and the four of us. Cooking 3 meals a day for 12 people was a huge undertaking. Leo's memory is how Bob would oftentimes barbecue a turkey. What I remember so well is how Bob was always right there in the kitchen, giving Lois his support and encouragement with hugs and taps on her shoulders and back. I thought those were such loving gestures.
Another memory I'll hold dear to my heart was during our last visit with him. At his request, Lois pulled out his old-time family photo albums. I loved hearing the stories he had to tell.
Our daughter, Jenny, remembers her Uncle Bob sitting in his recliner. She said, "He always seemed happy to me. It was always pleasant in their home."

I extend my sympathy to the family of Robert. The death of a husband, father and grandfather is a loss causing much sadness. I pray that you will feel the love of our Lord and find peace and comfort during these days and weeks ahead. I only met him a few times when he and Lois came to Mankato for special family events with their granddaughters, Megan and Alissa, but I enjoyed visiting with them and always looked forward to future visits with them. Blessings to you, Rozann(cousin of Candace(Steve) Richmond).
