Obituary of Robert R. Richmond

Robert R. Richmond, 87, of Muscatine passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Lutheran Living. Funeral services for Robert will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church in Muscatine. Entombment will be held at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Following committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church. Visitation for Robert will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church in memory of Robert. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Robert Ralph Richmond was born on July 29, 1929, in Jefferson, Iowa the son of George Ralph and Julia Marie (Cole) Richmond. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air force from September 1950 – September 1954, serving in Japan from April 1952 – August 1953. On May 20, 1951, Robert was united in marriage to Lois R. Wax in Oxford, Nebraska. He retired from Grain Processing Corp. in 1991 with 29 ½ years of service. Robert was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, active in Masonic Lodge, Iowa Lodge #2 AF & AM, Scottish Rites in Davenport, KAABA Shrine, Elks Lodge and was a past board member of the United Way. He enjoyed golfing, fishing in Canada, coffee with friends, the Breakfast Bunch at Hy-Vee and was an avid Hawkeye fan. Robert will be deeply missed by his wife, Lois of Muscatine; his children, Cynthia (John) Uchytil of Des Moines, David (Carol) Richmond of Indianola, Susan (Robert) Abbott of Cedar Falls, Steven (Candace) Richmond of Mankato, MN, Randal (Audrey Brown) Richmond of Muscatine, Lisa (Sean Curry) Lewis of Muscatine and 11 grandchildren, Christopher (Kelly Clime) Uchytil, Andrew (Reiko) Uchytil, Dante (Annie Morris) Richmond, Danielle Richmond, Julia (Matt Andreini) Abbott, Ian (Sarah) Abbott, Megan (Kyle) Guepfer, Alissa Richmond, Dana Richmond, Isaac Lewis and Joseph Lewis. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Jessica Richmond.
