Obituary of Esther Ann Lyons

Esther Ann Lyons, 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Lutheran Living in Muscatine.  Private family services will be held at a later date.  Cremation rites have been facilitated by FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center of Muscatine.  Visitation for Esther will be held on Friday, June 23, 2017  from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Esthers’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. 

Esther Ann Swick was born on August 12, 1937 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Mary Ellen (Terrill) Swick.  On August 21, 1955 Esther was united in marriage to Darrell M. Lyons at the Musserville United Methodist Church in Muscatine.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers, playing on the computer and most of all spending time with family and friends.  

Esther will be deeply missed by her children, Dennis Lyons and his wife Shari of Monroe, IA, Jenny Senft and her husband Paul of Kalamazoo, MI and Jeff Lyons of Muscatine; five grandchildren, Derek Lyons, Drew Lyons, Joel Senft, Amanda Senft and Bree Ann Freeman; and a great-granddaughter, Audrey Lyons.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her daughter, Jill Freeman; and her grandson, Daniel.
