I had just been thinking about Phyllis the other day when I heard she had passed away. I have Phyllis to thank for my love of music. I spent many weeks over the years taking lessons at her house, spending time talking with her and Don about life. She was a big influence in my life and she will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you Cindy, Steve and Sharon.

Phyllis was a good friend to both of us, virtually from the beginning of Gene’s life and certainly from the beginning of our marriage in 1969. As an organist, Linda always appreciated Phyllis’ superior musical skills. No visit to Muscatine was complete without a stop by her house. Love and prayers to all of her family and friends.

Wow! Phyllis I cannot believe you have left us to be with your Heavenly Father! You are such a special person that I thought you would be around forever (as you will be in our hearts). Seems like I have known you a very long time but got to know you better when I was secretary at First Christian Church. You and Don were special friends. My prayers and sympathy to your family who will miss you very much! Rest in Peace, My Friend! Grace Steckman

I will never forget your Mom. I feel like she and I held a mutual liking and respect for one another, despite our major difference in age. I always enjoyed visiting with her and hearing of her latest adventures, looking through pictures, listening to her talk of her family. I do regret that I didnt take more time to come and visit with her. I will remember the many times we were together for family events- Birthdays, graduations, weddings, and sadly, funerals of loved ones. I have always remembered Phyllis giving me advice as a teen girl about living life with self-respect and faith. Thank you for the good advice, Phyllis! Your Mom will be long remembered and always in my heart!
I feel very blessed to have had you, Sharon, as my former Sister-in-Law and my friend. I am also blessed to have come to know Cindy and Randy and their family, to call them more than friends, they, too, are family. I am beyond sad to not be there with you all at this time. Please know that my heart and my thoughts are there with you all, and I am praying for all of you and your families. I know through conversations with Phyllis that she was proud of the people all of her grandchildren have become. My heart goes out to each of you. Steve, you and your family are in my thoughts & prayers, as well.
Fly high, Phyllis, and tell my Mom and Dad hello for me, and give our girl Haleigh hugs and kisses! ♡

Our deepest sympathy and love to all of you. We have so many memories of working together at church over these many 58 years. She, Don, and you kids are a big part of our memories of fun times together. She was a true blessing to so many! Share your many memories with each other to comfort you and know she is probably playing the accompaniments for the angels choir.
