Seven years
One more year comes and the days go by
A total of seven, a tear comes to my eye.
To me it represents the years you've been gone
But not from our hearts, you will always go on.
The holidays come and never seem to be the same
More often than not, I hear the mention of your name.
Of all days throughout the year
Many of these days I hold close and dear.
The day we lost the battle
Hurt the most of all for me.
You went to be an angel,
Beautiful and finally pain free.
Seven years have gone
I will keep your memory alive
With each passing year
It is how I survive.

Gone but, Not Forgotten
I am reminded of you in the pictures on my wall
The funny stories about you that are told to all
Sometimes when I hear a certain loud laugh
I think of you and it takes me back.
I dream about you every once in a while
I can hear you talk and I can see your smile.
Other times I can hear you in my voice
It sounds just like you, I have no choice.
I think of you each time I hear Elvis,
Singing "I'm All Shook Up" and swaying his pelvis.
Each year I think of you in the month of May,
Wishing you could be here for Mother's Day.
Then there's days in August, one happy one sad
The 5th being your birthday, happy days never bad.
Then two days later the angels came to take you home.
Leaving us crying, sad and feeling all alone.
Not a day goes by that your name's never mentioned
I keep your spirit alive, it eases the tension.
I celebrate your life and keep your memory alive
You may be gone but, not forgotten, that is how I survive.

I Remember
I remember
your voice
your laugh
your smile
your touch.
I remember
when you were happy
when you were sad
when you were brave
when you were scared.
I remember
all the places you went
all the places that made you happy
all the places you took us
all the places where you had fun.
I remember
when times were good
when times were bad
when you couldn't stand beside us
when you were actually standing behind us.
I remember
when you met Kent
when you married your true love
when you became completely happy.
I remember
the times you helped me
the times you helped Nathan
the times you were there with Alexis.
I remember
a week when you felt good
a week when you wanted to go out
a week when you were full of life
a week when you felt so alive.
I remember
the last day I had with you
the last day we listened to Elvis
the last day that I told you I love you
the last day we all told you how much we loved you.
I will always make sure Nathan and Alexis
know everything about you
know that you are still with us
know that you are in our hearts
forever and always
I remember.

One more day
If I had one more day
I would tell you just what you mean to me.
If I had one more day
I would tell you how much I learned from you.
If I had one more day
I would tell you how much I miss your laugh, smile and your voice.
If I had one more day
I would let Nathan take you for a drive.
If I had one more day
I would let you push Alexis on the swing.
If I had one more day
I would ask you to watch over us.
If I had one more day
I would hug you once more.
If I had one more day
I would let you know we love you now and forever.
If I had one more day
I would tell you how much we are going to miss you.
I love you Mom, this I would tell you
if I had one more day.
