I have many fond memories of Bob "Digger" as I was growing up in Riverside. Participating in all athletics meant you got to know him as a friend because he was always donating his time to run the score book, drive us around, or just offer ideas on our performance. The thing I remember most was his love for the game of basketball. Even with only one arm, he was always looking for a pickup game and don't think he was going to shy away from contact because most of us got our first floor burns from contact with Digger. A truly devoted person to the young people of Riverside with a heart as big as a barn. I would expect him to be a star in heaven, where he won't be playing with any handicaps.
